SME Digital has launched an automated repayment system linked directly to Bank of Maldives accounts, removing the need for customers to manually process or confirm facility payments.
The integration allows repayments to be automatically deducted from a customer's BML account on scheduled dates. SME Digital said the system reduces administrative effort, supports timely repayments, and helps customers build a stronger credit history.
SME Digital is a subsidiary of Bank of Maldives.
The rollout will proceed in phases. The first phase covers customers who have converted conventional loans to Islamic financing under SME Digital's refinancing initiative. The company said it would extend the automated system to additional facilities over time.
SME Digital CEO Badhurudheen Hassan said the integration was designed to eliminate manual steps from the repayment process. "By making repayments more seamless and efficient, we are helping customers manage their facilities with greater ease while improving their overall experience with SME Digital," he said.
The company said the move is part of its broader effort to deliver digital solutions that simplify financial management for small and medium enterprises.
