Instead of navigating multiple banks, insurers and government offices for financial services, Maldivians will soon be able to explore the country's entire financial sector in one place. The Maldives Financial Expo 2026, organised by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), will bring together commercial banks, insurance companies, finance providers, regulators and government agencies at Hulhumalé Central Park from 2 to 4 July, marking the return of the national financial exhibition after a nine-year hiatus.
Open to the public daily from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the three-day exhibition is designed to improve financial literacy, promote financial inclusion, and showcase the latest products and innovations shaping the future of finance in the Maldives.
Held under the theme "Empowering Sustainable Futures: Inclusion, Innovation, and Intelligence," the expo will give members of the public direct access to the institutions that shape the country's financial landscape.
For many Maldivians, navigating financial services—from opening savings accounts and applying for business financing to purchasing insurance or adopting digital payment solutions—requires gathering information from multiple sources. The expo seeks to simplify that process by bringing the country's financial ecosystem together in one accessible venue.
Visitors will be able to meet representatives from participating institutions, compare services, learn about new products, and receive practical guidance from industry professionals. Organisers describe the event as an interactive learning experience rather than a conventional exhibition.
In addition to public engagement, invitation-only panel discussions for industry professionals and policymakers are scheduled for 2 and 4 July, focusing on emerging trends and the future of financial services in the Maldives.
Families attending the expo will find entertainment alongside financial education. Live music, lucky draws, games, and food and beverage stalls run by local small businesses will create a festival atmosphere across all three evenings. A dedicated Children's Evening on Friday, 3 July, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., will offer educational activities designed to introduce young visitors to basic financial concepts.
The 2026 expo builds on two previous editions. The 2015 event attracted approximately 2,500 visitors, while the 2017 edition, which focused on housing finance, drew more than 6,000 participants. This year's event significantly expands its scope, reflecting the diversification of the Maldivian financial market over the past decade.
The Maldives Financial Expo 2026 is free and open to the public.
