Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) participated in the National Engineers’ Day Children’s Evening held at Hulhumalé Central Park, showcasing the wide range of engineering and technical functions that support the operation of Velana International Airport.
The Children’s Evening was organised as part of activities commemorating National Engineers’ Day, with the aim of raising awareness among children about the importance of engineering to national development and encouraging greater interest in engineering and technical careers. The event was held from 16:00 to 18:00 at Hulhumalé Central Park.
As part of the event, MACL showcased seven key engineering, operational and technical areas: WSS, MSU, HVAC, Fuel, Information Technology (IT), AGA and Electrical. The displays provided young visitors with an opportunity to explore some of the specialised functions that contribute to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Maldives’ main international airport.
Through interactive displays and demonstrations, children were introduced to the work carried out by the respective teams and gained insight into how engineering, technology and specialised technical expertise work together to support airport operations.
MACL engineers and technical personnel also engaged directly with children and other visitors, sharing their knowledge and professional experiences while highlighting the diverse engineering and technical career opportunities available within the aviation industry.
