Maldives Islamic
Bank (MIB) has signed an agreement to establish a sales center and an ATM in R.
Ungoofaaru, expanding its services to the island.
The agreement
was formalized in a signing ceremony between MIB and the Ungoofaaru Council.
Abdullah Rasheed, President of the Ungoofaaru Council, signed on behalf of the
council, while Mufaddal Idris Humri, Managing Director and CEO of MIB,
represented the bank.
MIB stated that
this initiative aligns with the government’s broader efforts to enhance banking
services across the Maldives. The bank is also working to install ATMs in 19
additional islands this year, reflecting its commitment to providing greater
financial accessibility nationwide.
In Raa Atoll,
MIB has already installed ATMs in Hulhudhuffaaru and Dhuvaafaru, with
Ungoofaaru becoming the latest addition to its network.
This expansion
highlights MIB’s dedication to supporting local communities by offering
convenient and efficient banking solutions, fostering economic growth in the
region.
