Visit Maldives has announced football journalist Fabrizio
Romano as its new Global Brand Ambassador.
The announcement was made on Visit Maldives’ social media
platforms, accompanied by a video message from Romano, where he used his
signature football transfer catchphrase: Here we go!
“Here we go! I've teamed up with Visit Maldives as their
global ambassador,” Romano said in the video.
He emphasized the importance of having places to recharge
and described the Maldives as “seriously impressive.”
I've been blown away by the beauty. But it's not just
about the stunning views—it’s the whole vibe. Think of it as a solid break, a
chance to get away from the everyday grind. We all need that, right? Whether
you're looking for some chill time on the beach, want to try water sports, or
just want to treat yourself to a bit of quality relaxation, the Maldives has
got you covered, he added.
Romano also mentioned that he would be sharing
behind-the-scenes content from his experience, encouraging his followers to
stay tuned.
While not a traditional journalist, Romano is a leading
figure in football media, primarily operating on social media, where he
provides real-time updates on player transfers. He is widely regarded as one of
the most reliable sources for transfer news, with many fans only believing a
signing is confirmed once he announces it.
The Italian journalist has visited the Maldives multiple
times on holiday. During these trips, he has engaged with Maldivian sports
journalists and played friendly football matches at the resorts where he
stayed.
