MACL's progress depends on the skills of our people": CEO Shareef

MACL CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed said the newly launched Aviation Institute of Maldives (AIM) will accelerate the company's efforts to build a skilled aviation workforce.

The Aviation Institute of Maldives (AIM) will strengthen Maldives Airports Company Limited's (MACL) efforts to build a skilled workforce for the aviation sector, according to MACL Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed.

Shareef made the remarks while addressing guests at AIM's official inauguration and first graduation ceremony, held at the Hulhule Island Hotel.

Workforce development tied to company growth

In his address, Shareef said MACL's progress depends on the knowledge, skills and capabilities of its employees. He highlighted the importance of continuously developing staff across all areas of airport operations.

He said AIM would give MACL employees structured opportunities to gain recognised qualifications. He added that the institute would help staff strengthen their technical and professional skills and advance their careers while continuing to work at MACL.

First graduating cohort

The ceremony marked AIM's first graduation. A total of 29 participants completed the Certificate Level 3 in Airport Security Management.

Closing the ceremony, Shareef congratulated the graduates. He encouraged all MACL employees to make full use of the training and development opportunities available through the institute.
