The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has removed the Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, Major (retired) Mohamed Najah, more than a year after his appointment.
Najah was appointed to the role in December 2024, following the resignation of former Managing Director Muaz Mohamed Rasheed. No specific reason has been provided by the PCB for his removal.
Najah is a former officer of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), where he served for 21 years. He also holds a master’s degree in logistics management.
Fenaka Corporation, a state-owned utility company, is responsible for providing electricity, water, and sewerage services to island communities across the Maldives.
Among the key challenges facing the company has been resolving persistent electricity issues in Addu City. Addressing these concerns was one of Najah’s primary responsibilities during his tenure. However, a permanent solution has yet to be achieved.
