Ooredoo Maldives has unveiled its 2026 calendar under the theme “Tea with Ooredoo,” celebrating the rich tradition of tea drinking in Maldivian culture through a creative and sensory experience that blends design, flavor and technology.
The calendar was
officially launched at a special ceremony attended by company officials and
guests, where Ooredoo Managing Director and CEO Khalid Al-Hamadi highlighted
the company’s long-standing tradition of aligning its annual calendars with
Maldivian customs and cultural practices. He noted that tea, as a daily ritual
and a symbol of hospitality in Maldivian households, was chosen as this year’s
central theme to honor its cultural significance.
“This year’s
calendar is dedicated to tea, which is an important part of Maldivian life.
Each month represents a unique tea flavor, reflecting the diversity and warmth
of our culture,” Al-Hamadi said at the event.
True to its
reputation for innovation, Ooredoo’s 2026 calendar offers more than just dates.
Each month features a designated fruit, herb or tea ingredient for infusion,
with both English and Dhivehi names provided, along with information about the
infused teas. The physical calendar also comes packaged in a specially designed
wooden box containing a selection of tea flavors, offering users a hands-on,
immersive experience.
Continuing its
tradition of delivering a fresh concept each year, Ooredoo has released the
calendar in three formats: desk, wall and digital. While the desk and wall
calendars showcase themed artwork, the digital calendar introduces a modern
twist, featuring videos created with the assistance of artificial intelligence.
With the “Tea
with Ooredoo” theme, the company has once again blended Maldivian heritage with
creativity and innovation, turning its annual calendar into a cultural showcase
that goes beyond timekeeping to celebrate everyday traditions.
