Kickstart Your Career: BML Launches Expanded 2025 Internship Program with TechStart Opportunities

Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened applications for its annual internship program, offering young Maldivians the chance to gain practical experience in the financial sector. Applications will be accepted online until 30th September 2025.

The 12-month program, designed for students and graduates of higher education institutions in the Maldives, has been a key initiative of the bank since 2018. This year, BML has further expanded the program with the introduction of the TechStart Internship Program, aimed at providing specialized opportunities for IT students.

Under the initiative, 15 interns will be placed across all divisions of the bank through the Graduate Internship Program, while 10 interns under TechStart will join the bank’s Technology Division. During the placement, participants will receive hands-on experience working in various business units and branches.

To support interns, BML has increased monthly allowances, with graduate interns set to receive MVR 9,000 and TechStart interns MVR 11,000. The bank noted that the program has not only helped develop skilled graduates but also created pathways to long-term employment, with several past interns securing permanent positions at BML.

Since its launch, the BML Internship Program has supported 77 interns from diverse academic backgrounds. With this year’s expansion, the bank says it aims to strengthen opportunities for the next generation of professionals in finance and technology.
