Bank of Maldives (BML) has welcomed a new batch of interns under its annual internship programme, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to developing young talent and supporting career pathways for Maldivian students and graduates.
The Bank inducted 25 interns during a special ceremony, comprising both graduate interns and participants under the newly introduced Techstart category. Launched this year, Techstart is designed specifically for IT students, providing them with targeted exposure and specialised learning opportunities within the Bank’s technology and digital operations.
The 12-month internship programme offers participants hands-on experience across various business units and branches of Bank of Maldives, enabling them to gain practical insight into the banking sector. Interns also receive a monthly allowance throughout the programme, supporting them as they transition from academic life to the professional environment.
In addition to welcoming the new intake, the ceremony also marked the graduation of interns from the 2024 programme. Bank of Maldives highlighted that several of these graduates have been offered permanent positions, reflecting the programme’s role as a talent pipeline for the Bank.
Since its launch in 2018, the BML Internship Programme has supported a total of 77 interns, contributing to skills development and workforce readiness among Maldivian youth. The Bank continues to position the programme as a key initiative to nurture future professionals and strengthen capacity within the financial sector.
